Three people, including two teenagers, died after a van veered off Highway 12 and hit a tree in Oktibbeha County Thursday night.
Authorities responded to the accident at about 8:40 p.m. said Trooper Greg Bell of the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
The Sturgis Fire Department also responded to the scene. Fire services coordinator Kirk Rosenhan told The Dispatch the van hit a tree west of Bradley and that the three people in the car, who he said were all young, were killed.
The van was traveling east when it veered off the road, rolled and collided violently with a tree while still rotating, according to a press release from MHP.
Oktibehha County Deputy Coroner Jimmy Miller pronounced the three victims dead at the scene, according to the press release. The victims have been identified as Carolyn P. Fales, 47, of Weir, Tiffanie S. Fales, 17, of Weir, and Lane E. Dunn, 19, of Sarepta, Louisiana.
