A Starkville man previously charged with assaulting an officer was arrested Thursday after allegedly threatening a law enforcement agent’s life on social media.
Starkville Police Department’s SWAT team and the U.S. Marshal Task Force arrested Christopher Lindsey, 41, at a North Montgomery Street apartment and charged him with cyberstalking after he posted multiple threats to Facebook.
He was detained without incident, a SPD press release states.
Lindsey, who named the officer in his posts, allegedly posted the law enforcement agent was “gonna die with me … it’s on,” “I have a personal issue with you … come get this black boy” and how he would “shiw (sic) you how big being a black man van (sic) be … I got my gun now.”
At the time of his arrest, Lindsey was out on bond after being charged with simple assault on a police officer, driving under the influence and driving with a suspended license.
Nearby Sudduth Elementary went into a precautionary lockdown, Starkville-Oktibbeha Consolidated School District Public Information Officer Nicole Thomas confirmed, while law enforcement agents served warrants on Lindsey.
Lindsey’s bond was set at $500,000. He was transported to the Oktibbeha County Jail “in good condition,” according to the SPD release.
Anyone with information about this incident or others is asked to contact SPD at 662-323-4131 or the Golden Triangle Crime Stoppers at 800-530-7151.
