Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a suspect in an attempted armed robbery Thursday.
At about 11:30 a.m. Thursday, a woman was in her front yard on Swedenburg Road doing yardwork when she noticed a vehicle circling her neighborhood. It came around several times, according to Captain Ryan Rickert with the LCSO.
Then a suspect with a gun came around her house and threatened her, telling her to go into her home and get her purse, Rickert said. The victim hesitated and the suspect fled the scene on foot without having taken anything.
The suspect’s description is a young black male with a slight build and whose face was covered, Rickert said.
The victim had surveillance around her home and got clear pictures of the vehicle, Rickert said.
