NASHVILLE — Logan’s Restaurants Inc. will close 18 of its 256 locations, having filed for bankruptcy protection on Monday.
The company has not announced which of the locations it deemed underperforming will close, but said it will help employees with assignments to other Logan’s restaurants and outplacement services. It also said it would help with affected employees apply for other jobs.
Logan’s has a location in Columbus at 589 18th Ave. N. No word on whether that location will be affected.
Meanwhile, company CEO Sam Borgese, on the job since 2014, will resign.
Logan’s has nearly 19,000 employees in its 234 company-owned restaurants in 23 U.S. states. The remaining 26 locations are franchised.
According to its bankruptcy filing, LRI, Logan’s parent, had $347.2 million of assets and $546.1 million of debts as of June 30.
Logan’s opened its first restaurant in Lexington, Kentucky in 1991, and was owned by Cracker Barrel Old Country Store Inc. from 1999 to 2006.
