A Columbus man was sentenced to 30 years in prison Tuesday after pleading guilty to two charges of armed robbery in Lowndes County Circuit Court.
Quincy Martin, 28, received 15 years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections for each of the charges, which carried habitual offender status. The sentences will run consecutively.
According to court documents, Martin robbed the Riverchase Inn on Military Road on July 21, 2015. He reportedly used a handgun to threaten an employee during the robbery.
Martin was also accused of robbing the Quality Inn on Highway 45 on July 31, 2015. He used a black pellet gun during the second robbery.
He also faced a grand larceny charge, for the May 28, 2015, theft of a 2004 Dodge Ram from Carl Hogan Chevrolet. The charge was retired as part of the plea.
Two 2013 charges for burglary of a commercial building and felony vehicle theft were also retired. The charges stem from an Oct. 3, 2013, incident when Martin reportedly took a 2013 Dodge Challenger from Auto Body Center.
Martin has faced two prior convictions — on in November 2011 for grand larceny and one in Nov. 2005 for auto burglary.
