Logan’s Roadhouse in Columbus, located at 589 N. 18th Ave., will remain open.
The Nashville-based Logan’s Roadhouse corporation filed for bankruptcy protection last week and announced it would close 18 of its restaurants. Since then the chain has released a list of 21 restaurants that will close, but none are in Mississippi.
Meanwhile, Jamison Fry opened Aug. 9 in Starkville and Wing King is open in West Point.
Jamison Fry is an interior design company owned by Amanda Shafer. Located at 510 University Dr., the store is open from 1-5:30 p.m. Tuesday-Friday and from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturdays. In addition to Shafer’s interior design services, the storefront hosts Austin Fry’s Fry Retool Company, specializing in restoring vintage tools. Jamison Fry also offers vintage dishware, vintage furniture, local artisan items and other authentic homewares.
Shafer said after 10 years doing interior design work across the world, from New York City to Nanjing, China, she felt it was time to bring her experience back home to Starkville. The store’s large assortment of vintage dishware comes from the stock of a store in Meridian Shafer first found in 2000. Fifteen years later, she returned to the store to find it going out of business, so she purchased the 65,000 plus dishes that were stored away.
The Wing King food truck in West Point is expanding into a new permanent building located at the corner of West Main Street and Highway 45 Alternate, in the former location of the China Buffet.
Wing King was opened in October of last year by Garnet and Jeri Odneal. The restaurant serves 14 flavors of wings, along with catfish plates. Though already open for business, the Odneals plan to host a grand opening on Labor Day weekend, following the completion of the building’s interior elements and addition of an outdoor dining area.
Wing King is open 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m.-3 a.m. Friday-Saturday and 1-10 p.m. Sunday.
