Bank robber nabbed after heist at Cadence Bank in Aberdeen

Jason Browne

David Broyles, 33, of Prairie, is in custody in the Monroe County Jail after robbing Cadence Bank on Highway 45 in Aberdeen Friday morning.

Aberdeen Police Chief Henry Randle reports his department received a 911 call at 8:28 a.m. reporting the robbery. He and his officers were on the scene by 8:30 a.m. and employees told Randle the suspect had fled down the hill toward the woods.

Randle says he and his men started down the hill when he spotted Broyles near the woodline.

"I spied him to the left out of the corner of my eye and, I''ll be damned, there he was," said Randle.

Officers quickly apprehended Broyles and recovered an 9 mm automatic pistol and a bag containing $71,500 in cash. Broyles was arrested and charged with armed robbery and exhibiting a concealed weapon.

The money has been returned to Cadence.

Broyles surprised tellers as they were opening the bank and forced his way inside while brandishing the gun. He grabbed a bag of cash and fled on foot.

Randle says Broyles, to his knowledge, has no prior arrests.

"He''s a good citizen. I just don''t know what went wrong," said Randle.

When officers questioned Broyles, Randle says he "didn''t care to talk to us right now."

Broyles will appear before a judge Friday or Monday for a bail hearing. His case will be held over for Circuit Court.

You all can say what you want about Obama he is doing a great job. When Bush was in office nothing was said. So lay off Obama and if its up to me he will be President for the next term as well. This bank robber wasn't in his right mind at the time because if he was he will have been job hunting instead of robbing.

When you want to make people rich off making money off of poor and middle class you are not a christian. (I.E Republicans )and people that watch Fox news. When will people realize that selfishness is ruining this world?

@ whazright....What does that comment mean? No unborn child determines what race they will be. No one's skin shoud be a problem to anyone. Skin complextion does not termine anyone's ability to try correct an issue that has been out of control for the last few years. He is doing his best and I am happy that he is trying to make a change. Too much wrong has happened for him to fix any issue overnight but he is doing a great job at handling it!

The last time I checked Obama has a white mother. These idiot decisions has nothing to do with color.
