A Columbus woman was arrested Wednesday night by Columbus police for her role in an afternoon hit-and-run incident on 20th Street North.
According to Police Department Public Information Officer Terrie Songer, Andrea Herod, 20, of 677 Yorkville Road E., Lot C1, was arrested at 9:15 p.m. at the CPD and charged with domestic violence and aggravated assault.
“She came and turned herself in,” Songer said.
According to Songer, Herod was arrested for hitting 22-year-old DeShawn Carouthers Wednesday afternoon three times with a car.
Songer said Carouthers was walking down 20th Street North near Sim Scott Park when a car driven by Herod hit him at least three times before she left the scene.
Songer said police officers said he is the father of Herod”s child.
Carouthers was taken to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle with non-life threatening injuries.
No bond or court date has been set for Herod, Songer said.
