A 15-year-old girl injured in a car accident on Highway 82 Saturday has been flown to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson where she remains on life support, authorities confirmed.
Mississippi Highway Patrol did not release the name of the girl, one of four Columbus teens thrown from a silver Toyota that ran off Highway 82 East Saturday evening and rolled multiple times, according to a press release from Master Sgt. Criss Turnipseed. Two 17-year-old males were airlifted from the scene to North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. They are now listed in stable condition, Turnipseed said.
The driver, 18-year-old Tyler Coleman, is also in stable condition at NMMC, and MHP Trooper Greg Bell said Tuesday his condition is improving.
Ambulances at the scene took Coleman and the 15-year-old to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle. The two teens were later transferred to other facilities. Both were responsive at the scene of the accident.
The accident is still being investigated.
