A second Columbus man is in the Lowndes County Adult Detention Center for allegedly attacking a man with a pipe.
The U.S. Marshals Task Force arrested KeOliver Billups, 24, of 907 17th St. N., near his home on Tuesday afternoon, according to a press release from Columbus Police Department. Billups is accused of attacking a 40-year-old man with a pipe on Sept. 24 on Browder Street.
Municipal Court Judge Rhonda Ellis set Billups’ bond at $30,000.
The suspect is the second Billups to be charged in connection with the assault. On Oct. 14, police arrested Kendrea Billups, 21, of 906-B 17th St. N., for the same incident. Both Billupses were charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
CPD could not confirm by press time whether the two suspects are relatives.
The victim was not seriously injured in the incident.
