Authorities have accused a second suspect in connection with a November armed robbery and shooting in Starkville.
Starkville police and U.S. marshals on Monday arrested Dequayle Tate, 24, of Starkville on suspicion of aggravated assault and armed robbery in a Nov. 12 incident at the Starkville Plaza Apartments at 1426 Louisville St.
Police responded to that incident after receiving a report of multiple gunshots. After arriving, they found one victim shot in the shoulder.
Tate is being held in Oktibbeha County Jail. His bond is set at $50,000. He is scheduled to appear in municipal court on Wednesday.
In November, police arrested 29-year-old Lavon Edmonds of Starkville on the same charges in connection with the incident. He was booked in Clay County Jail, and his bond was also set at $50,000.
SPD asks anyone with information on the incident to call the department or Golden Triangle Crime Stoppers at 1-800-530-7151.
