A few changes have come to Highway 45 this week as Best Friends Animal Hospital opened Monday at 2116 Hwy. 45 N.
Although still under construction, the animal hospital is accepting appointments via phone call at 662-798-0878 or email at [email protected]. Best Friends offers house call services, preventive care and internal medicine. The clinic also runs special monthly discounts and a discount for bringing multiple pets in a single visit.
The staff at Best Friends Animal Hospital “realizes that your pets aren’t just pets, but rather important family members that contribute to the quality of your life,” according to the business’ website.
The animal hospital is open from 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Monday-Friday and 8 a.m.-noon Saturdays.
Also, Goose Hollow Furniture moved down the street from its former location at 1539 Hwy. 45 N. The new location at 1405 Hwy. 45 N., next to Old Hickory Steak House, was formerly home to Banks Warehouse Furniture Liquidators.
Goose Hollow is open 9:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Friday and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturdays.
Following the merger of Sears and K-Mart in 2004, the Sears Holdings Corporation has suffered some financial instability. These financial troubles are coming to a head as Sears announced in 2016 it would be closing numerous Sears and K-Mart locations that were proving unprofitable.
What does this mean for the Golden Triangle? At the moment, and hopefully in the future, nothing. Among the announced K-Mart locations that would be closing, none are in Mississippi. Additionally, as franchised locations, Sears Hometown Stores such as the one located at 1404 Old Aberdeen Road in Columbus are excluded from the list of closures.
