A Columbus man is behind bars and accused of kidnapping.
On Saturday, officers with the Columbus Police Department responded to a call at an 18th Street North residence where they arrested Stacey L. Manigo, 27, of 1592 Concord Road. Police said Manigo threatened a 38-year-old woman with a knife until she drove him to the intersection of 18th Street North and Ninth Avenue North.
Police did not offer further details by press time, including whether the alleged victim was injured.
Municipal Court Judge Rhonda Ellis set Manigo’s bond at $75,000. He is being held in the Lowndes County Adult Detention Center.
Aggravated assault arrest
On Sunday, officers arrested Robert Carr, 47, of 1101 Shady St., after he allegedly attacked a 37-year-old man with a knife on Byrnes Circle before fleeing the scene. Officers found Carr on Shady Street and arrested him, a CPD press release said.
Police said Carr knew the victim, who was treated for minor injuries at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle and released.
Carr was charged with aggravated assault. Municipal Judge Rhonda Ellis set his bond at $75,000.
He remains in the Lowndes County Adult Detention Center.
