The Easter Bunny of Leigh Mall Friday was arrested for disorderly conduct.
Tori Byrd, 22, of Columbus, who portrayed the Easter Bunny for the mall, was arrested Friday at 5:30 p.m., but was not in costume or around children at the time, said Cpl. Donnie Elkin of the Columbus Police Department.
“She went up (to the mall office) to get her paycheck, and they got into an argument about when she was going to get her money,” he said of the misdemeanor arrest, for which Byrd has been released from jail. “She just got real upset and wouldn”t calm down, so they arrested her and charged her with disorderly conduct.”
