Columbus police responded to three different calls about shots fired Saturday night, one of which sent a man to the hospital.
The three calls all came within about one hour, according to a press release from the Columbus Police Department. Responding to the last call at about 11 p.m., officers discovered a 26-year-old male victim on the 800 block of Military Road suffering from one gunshot wound. An ambulance took him to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle. Swan said the victim was still in the hospital this morning but information on that person’s status wasn’t immediately available.
The first call came at about 10:20 p.m., according to a press release from the Columbus Police Department. Officers rushed to the area of 15th Avenue South and Fourth Street South, but no injuries were reported.
The next call came at about 10:34 p.m. Officers responded to the 1300 block of Fifth Street South to find a vehicle that had been shot multiple times. The driver had left the vehicle parked in a yard off the street and was not in the immediate area when the shooting occurred. No one was injured.
Each incident is being investigated separately, CPD Capt. Brent Swan said.
Police are asking anyone with information on the shootings to contact them at 244-3500 or Golden Triangle Crime Stoppers at 1-800-530-7151.
