Investigators with Columbus Police Department are searching for the suspects in what may be an attempted robbery on 31st Avenue.
Two black men entered the B-Quik on 31st Avenue shortly before 9 p.m. Tuesday, according to Assistant Chief of Police Fred Shelton. Witnesses told police the two men had T-shirts around their necks — which Shelton said is something robbery suspects wear so they can pull the shirts over their faces before they commit a crime — and one of them had a pistol tucked in his waistband.
The two men appeared to wait for other customers to leave the store before apparently becoming spooked and fleeing on foot, Shelton said. They left without taking anything or threatening anyone.
Investigators are currently reviewing surveillance footage from the scene to identify the suspects.
