STARKVILLE — A Jackson man is behind bars after he allegedly shot someone on Pilcher Street Friday.
The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries and is expected to recover, said Starkville Police Department Public Information Officer Brandon Lovelady.
SPD responded to the area near Henderson-Ward Stewart Elementary about 1:45 a.m. Friday.
Few details about the incident were released, but Tyrus D. Taylor, 35, of Jackson, was charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon by a felon and possession of cocaine.
His initial appearance in Starkville Municipal Court is scheduled for July 10.
