A Starkville man is in jail for a Sunday morning fight at Vowell’s Marketplace, according to Starkville Police Department.
Police responded at about 9:30 a.m. Sunday to a fight in the parking lot of the grocery store on Highway 12. Stanley L. Brownlee, 44, was attacking a victim and causing blunt force trauma, a police department press release said.
The victim has been hospitalized and is in serious condition, though SPD did not identify the hospital the victim was taken to.
Brownlee was booked into Oktibbeha County jail but has since been released after posting $50,000 bond.
