A woman is behind bars at the Lowndes County Adult Detention Center for allegedly stealing money from her employer.
Tammy Deanna Walls, 43, of 96 12th Ave. N., turned herself in to Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office Friday where she was charged with embezzlement. According to investigators, she stole more than $1,000 over several months from State Line Fuel Center where she had been working.
Walls was denied bond because of a hold from the Mississippi Department of Corrections. She was on probation from a conviction of two counts of credit card fraud in Calhoun County in 2003, according to MDOC records.
She was also convicted of embezzlement in Rankin County in 2010. MDOC spokesperson Grace Fisher said Walls’ latest embezzlement arrest may result in prison time for violation of probation.
