A Crawford woman is behind bars after she allegedly shot at another woman.
Deputies with Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office arrested Jesse Mae Harrell, 58, of 735 George Bridge Road, Monday after responding to a call about shots fired on Lodge Street in Crawford, according to a LCSO press release. A woman reported that she and Harrell had been in an argument over something that had occurred that morning.
As the victim was headed home, she reported, Harrell began walking toward her, pulled out a gun and fired at her.
A witness backed up the victim’s story.
Harrell was not at her home, but deputies found her walking on George Bridge Road with a firearm a few minutes later. She has been charged with aggravated assault and misdemeanor simple assault by threat.
Harrell has not yet been before a judge and her felony bond has not been set. She is still in custody at the Lowndes County Adult Detention Center.
