Allegro Family Clinics, a subsidiary of Dutch Health Services, announced this week the purchase of two clinics in Columbus.

The North Columbus Medical Clinic, located at 4508 Highway 45 N., will now be operated as The Allegro Family Clinic of North Columbus and The Lowndes Medical Clinic at 45 Dutch Lane will be operated as The Allegro Family Clinic of East Columbus, according to Joe Gillis, founder of Dutch Health Services.

Dr. John Stanback and nurse practitioner Chase Larmour of the North Columbus Medical Clinic, as well as Dr. Robert Buckley, Dr. Gerald Turner and nurse practitioners Allison Taylor and Marilyn Smith of the Lowndes Medical Clinic will continue providing primary health services at those respective locations.

The purchase will be effective on Dec. 1.

In downtown Columbus, Anointed Apparel, a Christian-based boutique that opened in hopes to provide women a selection of trendy clothing, is officially closing today. Located on Fifth Street, the boutique will offer 75 percent off the entire store's merchandise. Additionally, the store will be selling some of the fixtures inside.

Moving on to Starkville, The Serendipity Hippie recently opened a storefront on Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. W. Although the owner, Paisley Hamilton, just opened a storefront, the business has been around since 2011 selling vintage and handmade clothing at pop-up shops, festivals and online.

The building The Serendipity Hippie is located in now was previously a mechanic and motor company. Store hours are Monday and Tuesday by appointment only, Wednesday through Friday 11 a.m.-5 p.m. and Saturday noon-4 p.m.

The space behind the Sprint Mart located on the corner of Highway 182 and Jackson St. in Starkville is being renovated for retail space. City Planner Daniel Havelin said it is still unknown who the tenants will be. The space is currently owned by Dutch Oil Company and Hoover, Alabama-based Commercial Construction and Maintenance is completing the renovations.
