The Columbus Lowndes Chamber of Commerce invites the public to an Education Town Hall with legislators this evening.
The town hall, which begins at 5:30 p.m. at the Courtyard Marriott Castleberry Ballroom on Sixth Street North, will be an opportunity for business representatives and others in the community to raise questions and concerns about education in Columbus and Lowndes County with legislators.
“Please come to the Chamber of Commerce Education Town Hall and interact with the members of our delegation who will be making important education decisions affecting the future of our state,” said Glenn Lautzenhiser, chairman of the Chamber’s Education Committee.
Legislators in attendance will include District 39 Rep. Jeff Smith (R-Columbus), District 16 Sen. Angela Turner-Ford (D-West Point), District 37 Rep. Gary Chism (R-Columbus), District 17 Sen. Chuck Younger (R-Columbus), District 41 Rep. Kabir Karriem (D-Columbus) and District 38 Rep. Cheikh Taylor (D-Starkville). Each legislator will make opening remarks before taking questions from the audience.
