A local man faces two domestic violence charges after attacking older family members.
Deputies with Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office were called to a domestic disturbance Dec. 7 on Lehmberg Road where they arrested William Joshua Latham, 33, of 308 Smith Road S. Latham had allegedly attacked two people, who authorities said were in their 50s, LCSO Chief Deputy Marc Miley said.
Latham allegedly punched and bit one victim and attempted to strangle another nearly to the point of unconsciousness, Miley said.
Paramedics treated the victims at the scene.
Latham was charged with one count of simple domestic violence, a misdemeanor, and felony aggravated domestic violence for the attempted strangulation. He has been released from Lowndes County Adult Detention Center on $7,500 bond.
