The ex-wife of a Columbus doctor who pleaded guilty to fraud in federal court has had her sentence hearing postponed a second time.

Robin Lowry, 50, was scheduled to receive a sentencing in federal court in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Tuesday but will not go before a judge again until August, according to court records. It is the third scheduled date for a sentencing hearing, as she was initially supposed to be sentenced in November.

Court documents did not indicate a reason for rescheduling the hearing. A call and email to Lowry's attorney were not returned by press time.

Lowry pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy and three counts of health care fraud in June. Federal investigators found she wrote unnecessary prescriptions for medications from Global Compounding Pharmacy while she worked at her now ex-husband, Dr. Slater Lowry's, Columbus medical clinic. Robin Lowry then submitted the fraudulent claims to Blue Cross Blue Shield. She was working for Global at the same time she worked in Slater Lowry's health clinic.

The maximum penalty for health care fraud is 10 years in prison.

According to Slater Lowry's attorney, Carrie Jourdan, he and Robin divorced and she was removed from the medical practice before she was charged.

Lowry is currently out on $5,000 bond.
