The trial for a man accused of first-degree murder is slated to begin today.
Billy Lee Kennedy, 33, is accused in the shooting death of his second cousin, 41-year-old Carl Miller.
Miller was found shot to death in a parked car outside the home where Kennedy was living on Feb. 28, 2015. Columbus police arrested Kennedy later that day.
Kennedy’s attorney, Steve Wallace of Columbus, was not available for comment by press time.
Kennedy’s brother, Arthur Kennedy, 36, was also arrested for a separate murder earlier that year, but told investigators he was Billy Lee, something police later said he had done on prior arrests. Arthur Kennedy was indicted for murder. Though his trial also was set for today, it has been continued.
