One person is dead after a Monday four-vehicle crash hospitalized four people.
Oktibbeha County Coroner Michael Hunt confirmed in a statement issued Wednesday afternoon that 47-year-old Tonya Graham, of Cedarbluff in Clay County, died at about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.
The crash occurred at about 10:45 a.m. Monday on Lampkin Street, between South Montgomery and Russell streets.
One vehicle in the incident was occupied by an adult, who was treated at OCH Regional Medical Center. The second vehicle, according to SPD, was occupied by an adult and a juvenile. The juvenile has been released after receiving treatment at OCH, but the adult — who Starkville Police Department has confirmed was Graham — was taken to NMMC.
An adult in the third vehicle was treated and released. The fourth vehicle in the incident was a parked vehicle that was, at the time, unoccupied.
SPD closed the portion of Lampkin Street between Russell and South Montgomery streets for a few hours after the crash.
Police are continuing to investigate the crash and have so far declined to comment on any potential causes or what happened leading up to the incident.
SPD asks that anyone with information on the incident contact the department at 662-323-4131 or Golden Triangle Crime Stoppers at 1-800-530-7151.
