DISPATCH STAFF REPORT

 

Sixteenth Circuit Court judges Lee Howard and Jim Kitchens handed down the following sentences during the May term in Lowndes County: 

 

Judge Jim Kitchens presiding: 

 

  • Darin Wayne Haynes, of 278 Christian Circle in Columbus, was sentenced to five years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections after a suspended sentence for burglary of a business was revoked. 

     

  • Joey Ray Gilliand, of 29024 Highway 171 South in Fayette, Ala., pleaded guilty to possession of precursors. Gilliand was sentenced to 12 years in MDOC, five years post-release supervision and fined $5,000. 

     

  • Christopher Mixon, of 3208 Wisteria Road in Columbus, pleaded guilty to six counts of sale of marijuana less than 30 grams. Mixon was sentenced to three years in MDOC, two years post-release supervision and fined $1,000. 

     

  • Kenneth Hunt, of 1022 Mike Parra Road No. 77 in Columbus, was found guilty of statutory rape. Hunt was sentenced to 25 years in MDOC. 

     

  • Angela Greenlee, of 162 Shady Lane in Columbus, pleaded guilty to false pretense. Greenlee was sentenced to three years probation. 

     

  • Damien Griffin, of 815 13th St. N. Apt. D1 in Columbus, pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine less than two grams. Griffen was sentenced to five years probation. 

     

  • Janet Lorraine Lewis, of 426 W. Minnie Vaughn Road in Columbus, pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine. Lewis was sentenced to four years probation. 

     

  • Robert Taylor, of 2175 Golding Road in Columbus, was sentenced to five years in MDOC after a suspended sentence for burglary of a business was revoked. 

     

  • Beverly Carter, of 317 Fourth Ave. N. in Columbus, pleaded guilty to uttering forgery. Carter was sentenced to 10 years in MDOC. 

     

  • James Stewart, of 1418 17th Ave. N. in Columbus, was sentenced to 16 years in MDOC after a suspended sentence for burglary of a dwelling was revoked. 

     

  • Constance Claudette Smith, of 3202 Knights Bridge Circle in Memphis, Tenn., pleaded guilty to uttering forgery. Smith was sentenced to eight years in MDOC, two years post-release supervision and fined $1,448. 

     

  • John Mark Halliman, of 4855 County Road 36 in Winfield, Ala., pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine less than two grams. Halliman was sentenced to five years in MDOC and three years post-release supervision. 

     

  • Ernest Lee Porter, of 297 Frontage Road in Columbus, pleaded guilty to felony DUI-third offense, identification fraud and two counts of embezzlement. Porter was sentenced to five years in MDOC, five years post-release supervision and fined $2,000. 

     

  • Tyrone Claborne, of 138 Poplar Road in Columbus, pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual battery. Claborne was sentenced to 14 years in MDOC, five years post-release supervision and fined $2,750. 

     

  • Jason L. Thompson, of 517 13th St. N. No. 2 in Columbus, pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana and possession of stolen property. Thompson was sentenced to one year house arrest and four years probation. 

     

  • Lovess Johnson, of 300 S. Lehmberg Road Apt. 35 in Columbus, pleaded guilty to embezzlement and was sentenced to five years probation. 

     

  • Kelvin Roland, of 2407 23rd Ave. N. in Columbus, pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine less than two grams. Roland was sentenced to four years probation. 

     

  • Dontrell Williams, of 814 13th St. N. in Columbus, pleaded guilty to grand larceny. Williams was sentenced to 10 years in MDOC, but will be resentenced upon completion of the Regimented Individual Discipline program. 

     

  • Jerry Davis, of 210 Florence Road, pleaded guilty to two counts of sale of hydrocodone. Davis was sentenced to 16 years in MDOC, four years post-release supervision and fined $10,000.

  • Alonzo Johnson, of 1701 Fifth Ave. S. in Columbus, pleaded guilty to domestic violence-third offense. Johnson was sentenced to five years probation. 

     

  • James L. Rice, of 3122 Crigler Road in Starkville, pleaded guilty to simple assault on a law enforcement officer. Rice was sentenced to three years probation. 

     

  • Mario Doss, of 2516 Sixth Ave. N. in Columbus, pleaded guilty to two counts of sale of cocaine. Doss was sentenced to 12 years in MDOC, five years post-release supervision and fined $5,000. 

     

  • Keisha D. Parker, of 20 Church St. in Caledonia, pleaded guilty to manufacture of methamphetamine and possession of precursors. Parker was sentenced to eight years in MDOC, five years post-release supervision and fined $10,000. 

     

  • Kenneth Thomas, of 2214 College St. in Columbus, was sentenced to four years in MDOC after post-release supervision following a conviction for uttering forgery was revoked. 

     

  • James Stoyle, of 367 Swartz Drive in Columbus, was sentenced to five years in MDOC after a suspended sentence for prescription fraud was revoked. 

     

  • Stephen Knight, of 101 Tenneco Road in Columbus, pleaded guilty to possession of methamphetamine less than one gram. Knight was sentenced to one year in MDOC and three years post-release supervision. 

     

  • Latasha Raspberry, of 14765 Highway 12 in Caledonia, pleaded guilty to two counts of manufacture of methamphetamine and had post-release supervision following a conviction for possession of cocaine revoked. Raspberry was sentenced to 22 years in MDOC, five years post-release supervision and fined $5,000. 

     

  • Jerry Raspberry Jr. of 14765 Highway 12 in Caledonia, pleaded guilty to possession of precursors. Raspberry was sentenced to 15 years in MDOC and fined $5,000. 

     

  • John Elkins, of 148 Barton Ferry Road in West Point, was sentenced to four years in MDOC after post-release supervision on a conviction for DUI-third offense was revoked. 

     

  • Tarnisha Tikola Woods, of 21 W. Mallory Road in Memphis, Tenn., pleaded guilty to two counts of uttering forgery. Woods was sentenced to five years in MDOC, five years post-release supervision and fined $2,000. 

     

  • Sherita Baker, of 314 Kidd Road in Caledonia, pleaded guilty to uttering forgery and grand larceny. Baker was sentenced to two years house arrest, five years post-release supervision and fined $1,880. 

     

  • Christopher W. Pritchard, of 107 Fourth Ave. in Columbus, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine. Pritchard was sentenced to five years probation. 

     

  • Nathaniel Patton, of 902 E. Sycamore St. in Columbus, pleaded guilty to failure to register as a sex offender. Patton was sentenced to one year in MDOC and four years post-release supervision. 

     

  • Ryan Bush, of 4264 New Hope Road in Columbus, pleaded guilty to felony DUI- third offense. Bush was sentenced to one year house arrest, four years post-release supervision and fined $2,000. 

     

  • Charlie Lee Evans Jr., of 514 Ranson Road in Columbus, pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine. Evans was sentenced to 11 years in MDOC and fined $50,000. 

     

  • Jessica Rutledge, of 2415 Shady Brook Lane Apt. D-22 in Haleyville, Ala., pleaded guilty to possession of methamphetamine. Rutledge was sentenced to six years in MDOC, five years post-release supervision and fined $5,000. 

     

  • Keith Gardner, of 90 Crepe Myrtle in Columbus, pleaded guilty to sale of cocaine. Gardner was sentenced to four years in MDOC, five years post-release supervision and fined $5,000. 

     

  • Naomi Frierson McCoy, of 915 Fourth Ave. S. Apt. 8 in Columbus, was sentenced to five years in MDOC after post-release supervision on a conviction for robbery was revoked. 

     

  • Melvin Bishop, of 1458 Christy Lane in Starkville, was sentenced to four years in MDOC after post-release supervision for a on conviction for accessory after the fact was revoked. 

     

  • Tyommo Wilson, of 227 Bell Circle Apt. C-21 in Columbus, pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine and possession of MDMA. Wilson was sentenced to four years in MDOC, five years post-release supervision and fined $2,000. 

     

  • Rafael McDavis, of 406 10th Ave. S. in Columbus, pleaded guilty to burglary of an automobile and burglary of a dwelling. McDavis was sentenced to eight years in MDOC, five years post-r
