Air Force base set to host air show

For the first time in four years, Columbus Air Force Base is hosting an air show. 


The Wings Over Columbus Air and Space Show will be held at the base on Saturday and Sunday. 


Gates open for the show at 9 a.m. both days, and the air and space show opening ceremony is set to begin at 11 a.m. 


At 11:15 a.m., the U.S. Army Golden Knights parachuting team will demonstrate a mass exit, followed by an Altus C-17 Demonstration Team show at 12:15 p.m. 


At 1:30 p.m., the 14th Flying Training Wing will conduct an aerial review. At 2:30 p.m., the Golden Knights will perform a full demo. 


An F-22 Raptor Demonstration team will perform at 4 p.m. 


The air show will also include a Saturday-only B-52 Stratofortress fly-by. The show will also include a T-33 shooting Star; T-6 Harvard Mk Iv; S-211 Marchetti; TA-4J Skyhawk; P-51 Red Tail Mustang; MiG-17F; F-4U Corsair; Blastards Pyrotechnics; T-6 Texan 4-ship; Ghost Writer; Twin Tigers; Redline Airshows; Hot Wire Harry; Salto Sailplane; Pitts S1 Pegasus; and a Ta-4J/MiG17f dogfight demonstration.
