STARKVILLE — The family of a Mississippi State University student who reported being sexually assaulted Saturday on the MSU campus is offering $5,000 for information leading to an arrest.
The victim”s father reported this morning there have been no new developments in the case.
“The only thing I know is as much as you guys know,” he said, referring to media reports.
The student reported that Saturday morning between 4-4:30 a.m., she was approached at the intersection of Lee and Coliseum boulevards as she walked back to her apartment. Threatened with a weapon, she was assaulted near McKee Hall before her assailant fled.
An initial description of the suspect indicates he was a black male, between 5 feet 7 inches and 6 feet tall.
“I haven”t got any further developments to report at this time,” MSU Police Chief Georgia Lindley said. “It”s still an ongoing investigation. We”re encouraging anyone with information or anyone who might have seen anything to contact us.”
