STARKVILLE -- The Starkville Police Department arrested a Brookville Gardens woman Thursday after a pre-dawn raid yielded drugs, paraphernalia, a gun and a ballistic vest.

Police charged 23-year-old Quaneisha Bush, of 305 Everglade Ave., Apt. 11F, with misdemeanor possession of marijuana and misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia. Felony charges against Bush are pending, SPD Detective Steven Gant said.

Members of the Starkville Police Department''s narcotics unit have been investigating suspected drug activity at Bush''s Brookville Gardens apartment and executed a search warrant Thursday at around 5 a.m., Gant said. While executing the search warrant, police discovered misdemeanor amounts of narcotics, paraphernalia, a sawed-off 12-gauge shotgun and ballistic vest. Police also discovered ammunition.

The Starkville Police Department and narcotics unit were assisted in the raid by the SPD SWAT Team and the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, Gant said. The investigation is ongoing.
