The executive director at the Institute of Community Services, Inc. (ICS) recently announced and introduced Karen Manning as the new Early Head Start Director.
Manning’s journey with ICS Head Start began in September of 1991 as a teacher’s assistant at Erma Rogers Head Start Center in Byhalia. She was then promoted to the position of teacher and served in that capacity for 16 years. Most of those years were at the Knowledge Gipson Head Start Center in Mt. Pleasant. Manning was later promoted to EHS Early Head Start Administrative Assistant and then to Infant/Toddler Specialist.
During that time, she pursued her education at Rust College and received an A.S. Degree in Early Childhood Education and a B. S. Degree in Childcare Management. She then furthered her education by attending DeVry University where she obtained a M.S. Degree in Educational Technology.
