A West Point woman was arrested for enticement of a child to meet for sexual purposes on Wednesday.
Detective Ramirez Ivy said West Point Police Department has been investigating Shevilla Pennington Stewart, 39, for the past month. The victim, 16, received numerous text messages from Stewart. The parents of the victim contacted the police and released the messages to WPPD. Stewart, who claimed no residential address, was found and arrested near Bugg Street in West Point.
“She was pretty much hiding from us,” Ivy said.
Stewart is currently being held at Clay County Jail and bond has not been set.
Ivy said there was limited information he could release because the victim is a juvenile.
Anyone with information about the incident can contact West Point Police Department at 662-494-1244.
