Jeffrey Harless, Tuscaloosa, Alabama-based developer, confirmed three official tenants in Starkville’s Midtown mixed-use development on University Drive, catty-corner to the Starkville Public Library.
State Floral, 401 University Dr., Suite 3, will open within the next two months. Owner Allison Siddall previously owned a floral and event business in Tupelo. Siddall is opening her new and first brick-and-mortar business venture in Starkville due to the customer connections she built while in Tupelo.
Sidall said each flower arrangement will be individually customized for the customer. Other than large and small floral arrangements, State Floral will offer gifts for every occasion, balloons, Mississippi State University merchandise and local artist items.
State Floral will be open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
Orange Theory Fitness, which offers hour-long cardio and strength-training classes, will open in Suite 5 of Midtown by the end of September.
Strange Brew Coffeehouse’s second location is currently under construction at Midtown. Harless said it will be opening in Suite 7 of Midtown in about three months.
Midtown Apartments are at full capacity and welcomed its tenants Aug. 1, offering 33 apartments, Harless said. Phase II construction of another section of apartments will begin Sept. 1.
Moving away from Midtown, What’s for Dinner? Store owner Cindy Brown has the answer to that question.
Customers can come to What’s for Dinner? at 506-1 Academy Road, for frozen casseroles ranging from chicken spaghetti, lasagna, tomato pie, enchiladas and more. Brown is a one-woman-show, preparing and cooking all dishes from scratch. She reopened her business after a 12-year hiatus in July.
What’s for Dinner? is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Brown also intends to open during Mississippi State University home football games to help add homemade dishes to the tailgating experience.
In Columbus, Tracy’s Southern Touch, which opened in early April, just moved locations.
Tracy Wilson, owner and chef, said she moved from Martin Luther King Drive to 1316 Highway 69 S. in hopes of finding more customers. After opening on Monday, Wilson said the increase in patrons is evident. Tracy’s offers classic plate lunch specials, hamburgers, fish baskets and Philly cheese steak sandwiches.
Wilson said although she will never turn down a customer while her lights are on, her hours are Monday though Thursday 10 a.m.-10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m.-1 a.m. and Sundays from noon-6 p.m.
Mississippi University for Women graduate Tiffany Warren opened her own medical clinic Chosen 2 Care, located at 2104 Fifth St. N., Suite 6., on July 24. Warren, a certified family nurse practitioner, opened her medical clinic to provide health care for the entire family. Chosen 2 Care is open Monday through Friday 8 a.m.-6 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m.-2 p.m.
