A Columbus man has been accused of attacking another man with a box cutter.
Tracy Lamar Pippins, 51, of 1505 Third Ave. N., was arrested Aug. 30, four days after the assault was reported.
According to an incident report from Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office, Pippins got into an argument with the victim on Ellis Street on the afternoon of Aug. 26. According to reports to deputies, Pippins cut the victim on the left hand near his thumb. The injury sent the victim to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle.
Pippins told deputies the victim cut himself, the affidavit says. Other witnesses, including the victim, said Pippins and the victim argued, though one witness said he hadn’t seen the victim get cut.
Pippins has been released from Lowndes County Adult Detention Center on $15,000 bond.
