An 18-year-old was arrested for a hit-and-run that sent one man to the hospital Thursday night.
Charlea Rayan Fitzpatrick, of 504 22nd St. S., has been charged with leaving the scene with injuries after she allegedly hit a 21-year-old man riding a bicycle on William Roberts Road.
The hit-and-run occurred about 7:19 p.m. near the intersection of Swedenburg Circle east of Columbus near New Hope. The victim, who authorities have not identified, was riding east on William Roberts Road when the suspect hit him, according to a Lowndes County Sheriff's Office press release issued Friday.
Fitzpatrick was taken into custody Thursday and charged Friday.
The victim was flown to North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Authorities did not know the victim's status by press time.
Fitzpatrick has been released from Lowndes County Adult Detention Center on $7,500 bond.
