CULLMAN, Ala. — Attention Walmart shoppers: If you were on the right aisle at a store in north Alabama recently, you could have said hello to Miley Cyrus.
Ashton Warnke did. She thought the young lady shopping in a Walmart store in Cullman looked familiar, and sure enough, it was the 17-year-old actress, accompanied by her boyfriend, Liam Hemsworth, and another young couple.
“They were just looking at bathing suits,” Warnke told The Birmingham News in a story Friday. “I walked up to her and said, ”Excuse me, are you Miley Cyrus?” She smiled and said yes, and I asked if we could get a picture. She smiled and let my mom take our picture.”
Warnke added that “you could tell she didn”t want a lot of people to see she was there.”
“They were just hanging out in a Walmart like normal teenagers,” said Warnke, 21, of the encounter last Saturday. “Her boyfriend was videotaping her.”
Cyrus lives in Nashville, about 220 miles north of Cullman. Hemsworth was a co-star with her in the movie “The Last Song.” Warnke did not immediately return a call Friday.
