The Golden Triangle''s second motorcycle fatality in just over a week happened Friday on Highway 50 in Clay County.
Shane Marshall Delay, 23, of West Point, was driving a black 2008 Harley-Davidson motorcycle East near the intersection of Highway 50 and Waverly Road around 1:30 p.m. when he collided with a black 2005 Chevrolet Avalanche driven by Danny Comer, 48, of West Point.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol has not released details about the accident, except that Delay was transported by ambulance to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle where he was pronounced dead by Clay County Coroner Alvin Carter. Three children, ages nine, 10 and 13, were riding in the Avalanche but no additional injuries were reported. The accident remains under investigation by the MHP.
