JACKSON – Mississippi”s congressional incumbents are holding significantly more campaign cash than their challengers.
The latest finance reports show 1st District Democratic Rep. Travis Childers with $903,469 cash on hand and $100,000 of debt through June 30. Republican Alan Nunnelee reports $233,205 cash and no debt.
In the 4th District, Democratic Rep. Gene Taylor reports $351,022 cash. Republican Steven Palazzo reports $26,131 in cash and $32,000 in debt.
In the 2nd District, Democratic Rep. Bennie Thompson reports $2.1 million cash. No report is available for Republican George Bailey.
In the 3rd District, Republican Rep. Gregg Harper reports $181,494 cash. No new report is available for Democrat Joel Gill.
