CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. — A jury in Clarksville found a woman guilty of second-degree murder and aggravated child neglect for leaving her 3-month-old daughter in a hot car.
The Leaf-Chronicle reported the jury returned the verdict on Thursday against Cortni Nichols in the death of her daughter, Faith, in July 2008.
She will be sentenced on Sept. 7.
On the witness stand Wednesday, the 26-year-old Nichols said tearfully she forgot she had left her daughter in the car while she was inside a bar.
