A Starkville man was arrested Wednesday after police received a report he’d attacked someone.
Joe Isaac Jr., 26, has been charged with domestic violence-aggravated assault, according to a Starkville Police Department press release. Investigators said he attacked the victim, who authorities did not identify, at the Brooksville Garden Apartments on Everglade Avenue.
SPD Public Relations Officer Brandon Lovelady said Isaac did not attack the victim with a weapon and described it as “physical altercation.” He added the victim was not a blood relative of Isaac’s and did not go to a hospital following the incident.
Under Mississippi law a person is charged with domestic violence-aggravated assault, a felony, if they use a weapon or if they choke the victim. The victim also is a family member or former or current dating partner.
Isaac was released from Oktibbeha County Jail Thursday on $10,000 bond.
