One person is in custody and two others were treated and released from the hospital following a stabbing in West Point Thursday.
Steve Lashun Swing, 40, has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault manifesting in extreme indifference to life. He was arrested just before noon Thursday.
West Point Police Chief Avery Cook said Swing stabbed two people during an altercation within the city limits. He added police are still investigating what caused the altercation and why Swing stabbed them.
Swing knew the victims, Cook said.
The victims were taken to North Mississippi Medical Center in West Point where they received stitches and other medical treatment. They were both released the same day.
Swing is currently in custody at Clay County Jail. His bond has not been set.
