A West Point man died in a two-car wreck Sunday afternoon, according to a Mississippi Highway Patrol press release.
MHP responded to the wreck around 2:21 p.m. on Highway 50 at Barton Ferry Road.
Tommy Clark, 65, was driving a maroon Pontiac Fiero east on Highway 50 when he hit a Ford Focus driven by Erin Gillespie, 17, of Starkville, who was traveling south on Barton Ferry Road. Clark was pronounced dead at the scene and Gillespie was not injured in the accident.
MHP Public Affairs Officer Sgt. Derrick Beckom described the incident as a “T-bone collision” when speaking to The Dispatch.
MHP is still investigating the accident.
