A man who shot two Lowndes County Sheriff’s deputies in 2014 pleaded guilty Friday to two counts of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer.
Kenneth Coscia, 35, was arrested in March 2014 after he opened fire on law enforcement at his home in New Hope. The deputies were at the residence to perform a welfare check on Coscia. According to previous reporting from The Dispatch, Coscia shot at the deputies through his front door.
Though no one was killed, two of the deputies were hospitalized.
A third charge of shooting into a dwelling was retired based on Coscia’s plea, according to Lowndes County Circuit Court records.
Coscia is scheduled to be sentenced on March 1.
