A Lowndes County man has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a child from Columbus.
Akeia Raysheem Colvin, 23, of 677 Yorkville Road E. Apt. O-1, is facing a sexual battery charge after officers from Columbus Police Department and Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office found a 14-year-old female in his apartment, according to a LCSO press release.
Columbus police contacted LCSO Tuesday morning asking for assistance finding the victim, who they said may have been at Colvin’s apartment complex “with an adult,” the press release said. After authorities found the child, they arrested Colvin.
Colvin is currently in custody at Lowndes County Adult Detention Center on $20,000 bond.
