A blue 2000 Ford Mustang swerved to miss another car and ran into a stop sign and the corner of a Southside house early Wednesday while the family inside was eating breakfast.
The car plowed into the house at the corner of 10th Street and Third Avenue South about 7:30 a.m., severely damaging the car but doing little damage to the wood structure.
“I was just inside eating breakfast with the kids,” said homeowner Elizabeth Richardson, who said the accident surprised the family.
The driver of the Mustang, 20-year-old Gavin Yarbrough, of Oakland, said the other vehicle, driven by Katie Buntin, was stopped in the intersection and he swerved to avoid her, said Columbus Police Department Public Information Officer Terrie Songer.
No one was charged in the incident, she said.
