After crossing union workers'' picket lines at Omnova Solutions Inc., at least three local businesses have had roofing tacks thrown in their driveways, said Lowndes County Sheriff Butch Howard.
The tacks, which can blow out tires and damage vehicles, have been found at a delivery service, a forklift repair shop and twice at a janitorial service.
The first report was filed five weeks ago, and the two most recent attacks were last week, Howard said.
"It''s getting to be a pattern," he said.
United Steelworkers Local 748-L President Jay Lawrence said he had been contacted by Howard and union workers were cooperating in the investigation.
Businesses in the city have not reported any damage done by tacks, said Columbus Police Public Information Officer Terrie Songer.
Workers at the plant, which makes commercial wall coverings and coated fabrics, have been striking since May 21.

I wonder where the police get their theories?strange very strange indeed!Shouldnt the police be busy getting and gatering facts and evidence before they make assumptions?sounds a bit one sided to me!

Carol, what's this about theories? The tacks have been found at the three businesses and I'm sure the LCS dept. has the evidence. Seems the only "one sided" person on this subject is YOU!

I feel confident the LCSD did not share all the evidence with the media but they have started to connect the dots of evidence in the investigation. Wherever the evidence leads will result in an arrest.
The Dispatch is reporting news of the experience of these service providers, and getting a sense of the leads LCSD is persuing.
What's wrong with that (other than the clues when fully corroborated may eventually lead to your beloved union members)?

I think this is absolutely PATHETIC for "Grown" men to be acting in this manner I mean really stop crying and either take whats left of you jobs or go on with your life! It's not right to bully people like the janitorial services who have nothing to do with this whatsoever!! I think all of the people involved with this should be ASHAMED!!!

Hey Carol, I tell you where they get their theories! Its from the honest people in this world that do the right thing and tell the TRUTH!!! Its about dang time the media gets a hold of this and I hope all the employees whose homes were hit earlier in the strike would personally contact the dispatch and the packet, and CNN, HLN, FOX NEWS, etc... Seems to me Carol you want to complain in the media but not be found out by the media, stop spreading lies and get back to work or get packing!!
