A 41-year-old Caledonia woman pleaded guilty Thursday in federal court in Oxford to taking and distributing pornographic photographs of her two young sons.
Angela Marie Shoemake, of 276 Wells Drive, was arrested Aug. 16 after her boyfriend found photographs of her 8- and 6-year-old boys on her computer and contacted authorities.
She was planning to send the pictures to a man she met online, according to Lowndes County Sheriff”s Office Detective Tony Cooper.
Shoemake signed a plea agreement Thursday to plead guilty to a count of using a minor to produce pornography and a count of distributing child pornography.
U.S. District Judge Michael P. Mills will not sentence Shoemake for about 45 to 60 days.
For the first charge, she faces 15 to 30 years imprisonment, a fine of up to $250,000, at least five years of post-release supervision and a special assessment fine of $100. For the second, she faces five to 20 years in prison, a $250,000 fine and a $100 special assessment fine.
Shoemake also faces two counts of child exploitation in Lowndes County Circuit Court.
Neither of the boys is thought to have been sexually molested, Cooper said.
