Four teens were arrested just after midnight Wednesday as they broke into two vehicles in the 800 block of Third Avenue South in Columbus, according to police.
A man sitting in his truck across the street witnessed the break-ins and called 911 at about 12:25 a.m. Wednesday, said police Public Information Officer Terrie Songer.
Officers responded and arrested the juveniles — a 16-year-old boy and three 14-year-old boys — at the scene. They were charged with two counts of burglary of an auto.
Their identities were not released by police, per departmental policy.
The teenagers face up to 90 days in jail, up to a $5,000 fine and up to a year of probation, if convicted of the break-ins.
