Police have arrested a man and are looking for another in connection with an armed robbery just east of Mississippi University for Women.
Pierre Ricardo Colvin, 30, of 2221 10th Ave. S., and Justin Lashaun Jackson, 26, of 223 McHall Drive, approached the male victim in the 1900 block of Washington Avenue at about 6 p.m. Monday, said police Public Information Officer Terrie Songer.
Jackson pointed a rifle at the victim while Colvin went through his pockets, taking an undisclosed amount of cash before they pushed him down and fled, Songer said.
Police arrested Colvin at his residence Tuesday at 3:35 a.m. Jackson was not in custody Thursday morning.
The Lowndes County Sheriff”s Office reported the following other felony arrests:
- Meredith A. Andrews, 31, of 2805 Spurlock Road, turned herself in to deputies Monday on charges of obtaining a controlled substance by fraud.
- Quinton Lance Belk, 29, of 4180 Highway 373 Apt. 234, was arrested Tuesday on Hill Drive on charges of failure to obey a police officer, resisting arrest, possession of marijuana in a vehicle, failure to yield to a blue light, driving without insurance and with a suspended license, failure to yield the right of way and violation of probation.
Columbus Police Department
- Demarco Ramanuel Gibbs, 28, of 319 23rd St. N., was arrested Sunday at 716 Moss St. on charges of domestic violence, aggravated assault with a weapon and resisting arrest.
- Jeremy Jermale Dora, 21, of 1105 11th Ave. S. Apt. 1, was arrested Dec. 23 at 901 11th St. S. Apt. I3 on charges of burglary and larceny of a dwelling, possession of marijuana and violation of probation.
