The Columbus Convention and Visitors Bureau voted Tuesday to remove the restrictions keeping Interim Director Nancy Carpenter from applying for the permanent position.
The motion, made by Eat With Us Group CEO John Bean, amended the board”s December decision.
Carpenter, the former CVB project manager who has 30 years of sales and marketing experience in the banking industry, said she “certainly will” file an application.
If selected by the board, she would replace the outgoing executive director, James Tsismanakis, who recently accepted a job as head of the DeKalb County, Ga., CVB.
The board also voted to give her full use of the director”s vehicle, a Ford Expedition, which is less costly than reimbursing her mileage, according to Tsismanakis.
